Mike Welsh, President of the Cherokee County Sports Hall of Fame, announced that the Board of Directors met on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 to select the nominees for induction into the Class of 2016.

The bi-annual ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 11 at 6 p.m. in the Gadsden State-Cherokee Arena in Centre and include Paige Anderson (McDonald), Taylor Burt, Jamie Hampton, Lucas McMichen, Josh Moten, Bobby Sanders and Charley Whorton.

Mr. Welsh made personal calls to each of the nominees congratulating them on behalf the Board of Directors and the current members of the Hall of Fame.
