Ed Arnold, Jr. was a coach and administrator in the Cherokee County School System from 1960 to 1973 before he took office as the elected superintendent of the county. He served the community for 24 years in this capacity. He was honored with the first State School Administrator Award by the state of Alabama. He was also instrumental in developing many youth sports programs in the Cherokee County.
