Jack Green graduated from Cherokee County High School in 1941. He went on to play football at the University of Alabama for a year before serving his country during World War II. Jack returned to the university in 1944 to continue his education and athletic career. While at the University of Alabama he played in the Sugar, Orange, and Rose Bowls. In the 1946 Rose Bowl he recovered a fumble during the second play of the game which eventually led to a Crimson Tide touchdown. Jack eventually returned to Cherokee County to serve as a coach and inspiration to countless others.
