Football
Began Varsity football program at Spring Garden High School

Coach Hilburn began his coaching career at Ohatchee High School in 1963. The next year, Coach Hilburn moved to
Spring Garden High School where he coached from 1964 until 1972. He then moved to Haralson County, Georgia
where he coached from 1973 until 1985. During his time in Georgia, Coach Hilburn’s record was 244-99 as a
varsity basketball coach. He led Haralson County High School to eight state playoff appearances,
eight sub-regional championships, four region championships and a Final Four appearance in 1978.
