Coach Wester graduated from Sand Rock High School in 1952. He received a B.S. in education from Jacksonville State University and a Master’s Degree and Educational Specialist Degree from the University of Alabama. Wester taught and coached basketball at Cedar Bluff High School from 1969 to 1972. Wester went on to become the vice-principal of the school. He retired from the Cherokee County School System in 1988. Coach Wester is still regarded as one of the greatest coaches in Sand Rock High School’s history.
